DVD+R Formatting?

Hello,
I am using Movie Maker with Windows XP. I am trying to produce final cut to DVD+R. Program does not recognize DVD. Do I need to format this DVD before copying to it. CD Drive works to play. How do I format DVD+R is that is my problem.

You cant format cd/dvd disks .. it allows only to write data.. in cd-RW/dvd -RW you can delete the content and use it again..

are you sure that you have DVD drive ,, Cd drive can't recognise dvd disks..
