Good evening,

Our MSI GL62 6QD laptop with Windows 10 installed in it suddenly started to not read dvds. I can open it, put the dvd inside, it makes sound and then nothing. Device Manager told me the device was not connected. Searched for the problem and found some solutions and tried them.

- Uninstalled DVD rom from Device manager and after reboot laptop didn't automatically installed the device.
- After uninstalling the device checked the registry for Lower and Upper Filter, couldn't find them.

- Next step in the solution suggested that i should uninstall ATA/ ATAPI controllers, Channel 0 and channel 1. But i don't have them, i have AHCI. Couldn't decide whether i should uninstall or not. Updating the drivers didn't help by the way.

What should i do?

No it can't read CDs or DVDs. It's only 6 months old.
