DVD Spin Up When Using Web Browser

I have a Dell Dimension XPS 600 which I recently formatted and reinstalled Windows 98.
Since the reinstall, the DVD spins up at inappropriate times such as typing in a URL in my Web Browser.
This didn't happen before, is there any reason for this, settings in Windows etc?

hmmm some thing with me but with my floppy drive. i email the floppy driver manufactor and they told me how to fix it. but you have a dvd-rom contact Dell.

My Cd rom in one of my computers does that. I am not sure if you can fix it or not. But it dosen't bug me that much and I normaly don't let my cd's sit in it for long periods of time. Good luck!

i set my secondary drive to spin down and when i start up my web browser my secondary hd comes back to life. w3rd stuff
