Will CRT monitors go away, eventually yes. However don’t hold your breath. As long as Sony, Mitsubishi, Samsung, Orion, Chung-Wa etc. can make a buck selling CRT’s they will be around in some fashion.

I have heard of the demise of the CRT monitor since the early 90’s and they are still going strong. I would also argue also that LCD days are limited. With the advances in OLEDs and LY-COS technology eventually TFT LCD’s will be replaced. Again don’t hold your breath.
