dvi-d to vga converter to my gt 1030 and the display not working

I have a problem, i use the dvi-d converter to vga for my gt 1030 but the screen show nothing and it's black after i turn on pc. it's my converter problem or what? pls answer thanks

yes i put it in the graphic card. If i put it in the motherboard, the display show me the picture and the words to put it into graphic card.

yes, i choose the dvi d dual link and my converter is like this https://www.ebay.com/itm/DVI-D-Digital-Dual-Link-male-24-1-to-VGA-female-adapter-FastShip-From-USA-/181536219405

The adapter in that Ebay link is passive and next to worthless as it will not work on 99% of devices. You need and active adapter to convert the dvi-d's digital signal to the vga's analog signal.

I honestly do not know whats wrong maby someone else knows it.

Bignastyid knows. Nvidia has removed all analog outputs from their GPUs starting with the 10 series of cards. We get posts like this all the time now as people try to get their old monitors working with new stuff. You need an active adapter to get this working. Or a new monitor that accepts digital inputs.

So you go and open a new thread? You generally can't tell by looking. Buy from a good site, and it should say active. That's the best way.
