Dvi to hdmi adaptors not working in gpu to display in monitor

Hello everyone!

The title says everything. My monitor only detects my GPU if it is DVI in the two sides.

GPU: R9 280
Cable: http://www.sharkoon.com/?q=en/node/964
Monitor: http://www.benq.com/product/monitor/gl2250/

so it needs to be dvi [card] to dvi [monitor]?? or are you doing hdmi [card] to dvi [monitor]? or dvi [card] to hdmi monitor] ??

according to the monitor specs. input is stated as -- Input Connector D-Sub/ DVI-D

I never had any good luck with hdmi plugged in to the card and find it to be kinda flakey at best

Monitor had DVI and the GPU HDMI. So I have 2 cables. 1 cable with 1 side DVI and the other HDMI, the DVI side is for the monitor and the HDMI for the GPU, it's not working. I have another cable DVI to the monitor and the DVI to the GPU and it works fine.

that's right, that's how I found that to work the hdmi at the card just blows

now dvi at the card to hdmi to a monitor works fine also .. just something about pluging the hdmi into the card anit quite right yet

so if its working your all good right??

Yup, but all I want to know is why the DVI/HDMIN cable doesn't work :S

??? just the way it is, it works or it don't I got a box with cables that did not do as I thought they would ..
