Dvi to Hdmi not working

I just bought a dvi to hdmi adapter and I plug in the DVI M to the hdmi F to a long hdmi cable into my r9 380 g1 4gb graphics card the fans are on but it when i install the drivers it says Application Install: install package failure! what do i do

Adapters usually only go one way. Male dvi in the gpu, hdmi to the monitor. You need to unplug it from the mobo so it's not using the igpu.
