Solution
Hi there Anita,

Looks like, in the upgrade from Windows 7 to 10, your SD card drivers have somehow gone AWOL, and are missing, hence the SD reader is not working.

If you reply with the make/model of your PC (laptop/desktop), then I'll be able to point you in the right direction for which drivers you need to install, which should resolve the issue.

EDIT/UPDATE:

Through a private message, I was informed that it was a Toshiba Satellite C655D, Serial number 5B122509Q. I checked Toshiba's website, it seems they don't offer Windows 10 driver downloads, and no SD card reader driver for Windows 8.1 either.

However, as this laptop uses a Realtek SD card reader, it should be possible to use the driver directly from Realtek - here...

Through a private message, I was informed that it was a Toshiba Satellite C655D, Serial number 5B122509Q. I checked Toshiba's website, it seems they don't offer Windows 10 driver downloads, and no SD card reader driver for Windows 8.1 either.

However, as this laptop uses a Realtek SD card reader, it should be possible to use the driver directly from Realtek - here (http://www.realtek.com.tw/Downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=15&PFid=25&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false)

Just extract the zip folder, then run the 'setup.exe' file. You may need to say 'Yes' or 'OK' to any security pop-ups. You may need to reboot your laptop, although if necessary it should prompt you to do so.

I have posted these details on the forum so as to help other users who have the same issue - on the forum, a Google search will be able to find it. Through private messages, nobody else will be able to find it.

Solution
The problem can be caused by faulty drivers. You can try to update the drivers and see if the problem resolves.
If you’re a computer novice and have no idea how to update your device drivers, we recommend using Driver Easy. It’s a tool that detects, downloads and (if you go Pro) installs any driver updates your computer needs.
To update your drivers with Driver Easy, just click the Scan Now button, then when it lists the drivers you need to update, click Update. The correct drivers will be downloaded, and you can install them – either manually through Windows or all automatically with Driver Easy Pro.
