e6420 overclocking-dumb question

like he says the increased bandwidth is making up for the added latency of running asynchronous
Why is PC6400, which is also running asynchronous, faster then? Because the memory speed is now that much higher that it compensates for the loss of running asynchronous and overall performance does increase.
it is kinda what the old 1066 rdram did back in the day with its huge latencies

i think i'll settle for a dd2-800 ram, i'll under clock it and then tighten the timings if i can.i think 333x8=2664 would be good enough. and still have some headrooms left.

but everyone says the gigabyte mobo would do well in 1.8V rams, unless i wanna 'risk it'.

(on a side note: is 4-4-4-12 timing 'much' better than a 5-5-5-12 timing? the gigabyte manual is so confusing.)
