E6750...7900GS...Really low 3d Mark Score

I recently built my pc and am not overly impressed. I have an E6750 at 3.5ghz....8x438 @ 1.375V Idle temps 37, load mid 50's with a Coolermaster Hyper TX2 Cooler. Gigabye DS3L Board. 2x1024mb OCZ pc2 6400 Rev 2 at 876mhz. I have an EVGA 7900gs clocked at 560Mhz core and 800mhz Mem with an aftermarket Cooler I ran it on Orthos for over 8 hours and it is Stable. I ran 3d Mark 2001se and my score of 40k didn't change from stock cpu speed of 2.66ghz up to the current 3.5ghz. Which is weird cuz my old x2 3800 at max OC got 30k points at 2.7ghz. I just ran 3D Mark 2003 and got 13,762pts. I saw other users with the same hardware getting much higher scores. Should I be complaining or is this normal?? Thanks

Dude get 3dmark06 trial thats what we go by here. And also get pcmark05 trial to that would help with overclock results

Yea and a better video card would help as well. A 7900GS paired with a 6750 OC to 3.5 what a waste.
Pick up an 8800GT. There is one for sale at Best by for $179.99. Not bad............

Nothing wrong with your CPU score but your card obviously sucks. How recently did you build you would of been better off getting the e7200 for less then the e6750. I got my e7200 tuned today.

My Card is from Fall 06 when the 7900gs came out...got it for 180...a deal at the time. I'm just waiting to see what the HD4xxx series is like when it comes out soon. I built my pc in March and just brought over the Ram, 7900gs, 2 HD's 160gb and 320GB. The new 45nm cpu's were in short demand when i bought and it was only a 10% increase in performance(clock for clock) and in games I wouldn't see much of a difference. The card has got to go tho, I just thought it was unusually low.

I upgraded from the 7900GT to a 8800GT - big difference, the 7900GT is a weak card for todays standards (high end gaming anyhow), do you remember people complaining about the 8600GT's performance? the 7900 is around that performance so.

Looks Nothing wrong for your 3DMark06 score of 4890 for 7900GS if you tested at default resolution 1280 x 1024 definitely your graphic card pull down the score but it is around the average of 7900GS; the 7900GS is the lowest grade of 7900 series. If you don't like 3DMark06 score 4890, the only possible way to to buy a graphic card 8800GT of around USD$180 ~ USD$200 or 9600GT around USD$ 150.
