Hello, i have been trying to get my new Intel E7500 working for about 2 hours now with still no luck, when i boot up my pc the screen is just blank and doesnt recognise that there is a connection, Any ideas why would be lovely. my graphics card is a nvidia Gts 450

Solution
So you selected the GM45 not the CM45, they are 2 different boards.

You need to be sure that you have the GM45 otherwise your new cpu won't even work.
Download cpu-z and see what it says about your mobo and bios info.

The chipset has to be the 945G not the 945GC, cpu-z will also tell you this.
The fans inside spin fine but there is just no display, pc makes very little noise mainly just the fans but evan they are fairly quite,

The program speccy i have on my pc tells me this for my motherboard.

Motherboard
Manufacturer Foxconn
Model 45GM/45CM
Chipset Vendor Intel
Chipset Model i945G
Chipset Revision A2
Southbridge Vendor Intel
Southbridge Model 82801GB (ICH7/R)
Southbridge Revision A1

Have not yet checked the Bios update u talk about will check that now.

And the cpu i currently have installed..

Name Intel Pentium D 925
Code Name Presler

Well this time the monitor came on for like a slipt second but then instantly came up with "Monitor going to sleep", Fans ran as normal but there was a red flashing light at the front of my pc 0.o, so just turned it off and put old stuff back in :/

I left it off for about a minute as you said, turned it on left it for about another minute, switched it again for 30 secs ish.. put back in left for 30 secs then powered up.

Ok will do, is there a mega easy way to update bios or can it only be done with floppy? Wud be better if it can go onto a flash drive intstead,

Should be an easier way than floppy, check on the download page for your mobo, I cant access it at the minute.

Not quite sure what you are doing there with the reset, do this.

Unplug
Press power button a few times
Install cpu
Switch bios jumper and remove bios battery
Leave for 20 mins
Put bios bat back in and switch jumper back
Fire up machine

Yeah well my motherboard dont seem to have that jumper, atleast i cant see it so i just take battery out and i did take smethin else out aswell but not sure if that was jumper or not, Looked on google where the jumpers are mainly positioned and checked on my motherboard but there was nothin, so not quite sure like But wont do anythin now till mornin for me too many drinks to start messin about, ive checked the website for my motherboard but seems best and easiest way for me to do it is to floppy disk it,

Thnx for the help much apreciated will give a update on it in the mornin when ive sobered up 😛

HaHa, it won't work without the jumper, I'll see what I can find, HNY. [:bohleyk:1]

Download your board manual - http://www.foxconnsupport.com/download.aspx?models=en-us0000315&category=C000000001&series=en-us0000002&keywords=&sort=Motherboard Manual

On the main pic of the board next to the blue ide slot is a blue jumper called clear cmos.
Thats the jumper you need to switch after you install the new cpu, try without the battery 1st.
There are 3 pins just switch it to the empty pin for 20 secs then back again.

Ok so i did that and the screen still stayed black so i put the old cpu in and turned it on, when i did it the screen came up with a blue menu with loads of different options, but with the new cpu it still doesnt work

No i havent updated the bios yet i need to put the updats onto A usb since my pc doesnt have a slot for a floppy disk and having some problems with formattin my usb to correct requirments, and whats a psu lol?

You said it was a 500w but that model and link is the 400w.

If it is the 400w version thats the 1st thing you need to sort out, its not good quality and not enough power.

Create your bootable usb drive - http://www.bay-wolf.com/usbmemstick.htm
Download the latest bios file and copy the files to your bootable usb drive usb drive.
Follow udate instructions, print them out - http://www.foxconnsupport.com/faq.aspx?faqid=F000000066

Hurmm weird. when i whent into shop they told me it was a 500w, what twats lol,

Well thatl have to be done tomoz then, god dam it. Cheers dude,

Recon thatl be the reason why the screen stays blank then? Also do most powersupply fit into most cases?
