I remember MOHAA, fun game online until kids starting hacking the crap out of it.

I'll miss ya MOH. Today, FPS's are everywhere and none of them bring any originality. COD is just terrible now, focused on spamming guns like madmen running at 150mph.

I miss the Rainbow Six days, slow paced, team work, 1-2 shot death.

But unfortunately for that to come back we need patience, which kids lack and unfortunately kids are the focus with these FPS games.

Oh well. Soon a Gem will shine and i'll be enjoying slow paced FPS team work gaming.

There's a single word for EA's failures and one word that will put them back in the game:

Origin and Steam, respectively.

Really, EA, really. If you haven't pulled out the games from Steam, you would not be in this position AT ALL. And don't give us the "oh, Steam and their draconian TOS!". Just give them a bloody copy of the patches you put and it will be fine. Stop trying to push Origin down our throats (well, not mine; don't have any EA game with it) and then you'll sell stuff again.

Cheers!

+1

Couldn't agree more!

Now if they could just "retire" the CoD series we might be back on the road to innovation in the FPS game dept.

Fanboy should Stop making assumption that everything have to be on steam to be success.

battlefield 3 is a success without steam, Mass effect 3 is also a success without steam, how could u explain?

A lot of people consider BF3 to be a complete fail due to DRM and the crappy Origin software you need to get with it.

ME3 is probably considered to be the worst ME with the extremely disappointing ending.

There is Counter Strike still for us hard core fps players :)

Success of the game are depends on how good the game sells, not how good are. COD series u like it or not(I hate it) it is also a success.

I still do not see how relating steam can decide the game failure or not. Minecraft is not on steam, is it a failure? Startcraft 2 is also not coming with steam. I dont see failure either.

Origin is just another version of steam. Steam is just slightly better. Both of them are clients. Both of them are DRM.

ME3 and BF3 were highly expected games. they had an enormous following before release and very good hype. most people got origin just for these games. MoH however had lost the massive following it once had ever since CoD and BF3 became so popular. It might have had a chance to succeed if it was available on steam, where millions of people log in every day and are well accepting of the homepage and the interface. Not much chance to succeed with origin.

If you want an FPS that requires patience and teamwork, check out Natural Selection 2.

I love the part of this interview where EA refers to Medal of Honor as a missed hit. They automatically assumed that people would just gobble it up like Call of Duty. It's funny to read the whole interview and see just how badly EA missed its own expectations and how they blame reviewers and potential customers rather than recognizing the faults of their own product. The management of EA must be from another universe or something. They will continue to fail the more they continue to blame their customers for their faults.

People liked MOH because of its authenticity. This COO is a moron. The problems with MOH2010 were not fixed in MOH:WF, and things even got worse. That's why customers rejected EA's terrible bid at coaxing more money from people. It will be the same with the next Battlefield game if they don't fix the issues.

And I will go out on a limb and say that they won't given they they tried to sucker it to people or "sell" it with Battlefield 4 Beta access in 2013.

Been playing battlefield since BF2/BF2 MF and BF3 left a bad taste in my mouth. I will not be pre-ordering BF4 until I see that it moves away from battlelog. That was also a contributing reason why MoH:WF failed. It required Battlelog and Origin, just like Battlefield 3.

I can understand wanting to use your own platform but forcing origin and then loading it like some Unity engine game VIA a webpage and selling it for $60 is just wrong. If I'm paying $60 I expect a main menu.

Are you guys seriously blaming Origin for MoH's lack of success? MoH 1 & 2 were just BAD games. It's really that simple. They were pretty - the graphics were awesome. I think even the soundtracks were pretty good. But the gameplay was just laughable. I didn't play MoH 2, but MoH was like a bad joke. It used every imaginable cliche. It was trying to be Call of Duty AND realistic at the same time and it failed at doing either of those things well. Even as an *attempted* CoD clone (in the single player aspect), it was very bad, because it was more linear and boring than any of the CoD games. Like them or not, the CoD campaigns always innovate in some aspects. Meanwhile, MoH1's campaign was trying to emulate experiences we have *ALREADY HAD* - and had gotten sick of by now.

And the multiplayer? I tried the MP Beta for MoH1 back in the day and, bugs aside, it was also extremely bland. Much more so than BF3 - which is also boring. All in all, everyone needs to stop blaming Origin for EA's failures. Origin is NOT one of them. Origin is a WELL-DONE Steam alternative and EA is within its right to have their Steam counterpart.

If there ever was a ruined, vapid series that needs to be destroyed, it's modern-day CoD.

People complaining about Origin are funny... What's so different about Steam? Oh Steam is great until you need customer support then you'd be lucky to get it. I've had nothing but positive experiences from EA support, in fact, they have gone out of their way to help even issuing new game keys without hassle and without charge.

RIP MOH:AA. It was a good run.

Fond memories of using a sniper rifle to own face on "realism servers", where people modded SMGs and MGs to be 1 shot kills.

[citation][nom]TheBigTroll[/nom]MoH wasnt much of the run and gun type you would see in CoD. way more realistic. guess 8 year olds dont understand that properly[/citation]

If you think it is 8 year olds that are shunning MoH for CoD, then you know nothing about either franchise and the gamers that play them. I understand it's the "cool thing" to hate CoD, but there is a reason it is as popular as it is, and it's because of its accessibility, control, and fun factor. Until other shooters reach the CoD level of mastery of those things, they will not topple it from its perch.

[citation][nom]CrArC[/nom]Oh please, please let CoD be next. If there ever was a ruined, vapid series that needs to be destroyed, it's modern-day CoD.[/citation]

Oh please. Just admit that people enjoy that series of games and let it go. There are a million other shooters out there and you're welcome to go find one without slamming a game that millions love and enjoy on a daily basis. Everybody has their own preferences, you should realize that by now.

Oh, that's not a fanboi comment at all. Look at the Crysis 2 sales, for example. When they took it away from Steam it stopped selling until they put it back in. Same for the Need For Speed franchise and Dragon Age games. MOH is another victim of REALLY bad decision and management from EA's board of folks that don't want to admit their own faults.

They gave their back to a solid user base using a very stupid excuse and trying to put the blame on Steam just to try and push Origin down the throats using BF3 and ME3 as Trojan horses. You cannot deny that. Their own stupid corporate greediness has been the downfall of EA.

Also, take a look at the Sports games from EA which are on Steam. They're doing great and EA can't deny that.

So, like I said, it's not a fanboi comment at all.

And RussK1, Origin sucks ass, don't try and deny that.

Cheers!
