Hello,

I have someone coming to my home regularly, who has a laptop. I'd
like to give them internet access, but without them being able to see
our other files.

We don't have a domain controller set up. We do have a firewall.

This doesn't have to be absolutely bulletproof, and can even be kind
of hokey, just so that someone relatively unsophisticated about
computers won't see all our stuff, but will be able to access the
internet.

thanks for any and all ideas! Let me know if you need other info or
if there's better places to post this question.

What operating systems are involved?

Sorry, forgot that minor detail. Windows XP professional, Windows
2000 server. I'm not sure what's on the laptop, though...

They won't be able to access them unless you;
create a local account for them or
enable the guest account and
share out the resource allowing the "Everyone" group
