Hi, when a motherboard (e.g. ASUS ROG STRIX H370-I GAMING) has both 24-pin EATXPWR and 8-pin EATX12V is it required to connect both or just one of them?

What do you intend to install in your motherboard (CPU, memory, GPU, storage)?

i3-8300, 1 HDD NAS 6900 rot/min, 2x8G RAM, no GPU -> total ~ 23W

with i3-6100 similar setup takes ~23W, so I would live with a 65W psu (can’t find with 24pin)

The PSU should work. Are you mounting this in a vehicle?

I just target a very low power consumption and just happens for this (gaming) board to have the configuration I need (of course, I don’t need GPU)

but how would work? for EATX12V it only have 4 pin

If you look at the connector info posted earlier, you would connect the 4-pin connector from the PSU into the 4 pins on the right side of the diagram (includes pin 1). Page 1-14.
