Eax Sound effects not taking place after formatting Windows.

Hello everyone.

I am having a sound problem. i recently formatted my windows 7 and re-installed it. Previously with my sound card eax effect sound was working in windows 7 just like in xp. (i know Eax was removed from vista os onwards). But now after formatting and reinstalling in eax effects are not integrating with it like it did earlier. I very much like the eax sound it emits loud sound like when i am playing a game or watching a video the sound would be like everyone outside too can hear it but now even though i enable eax effects the sound is just audible in my room its like, its not spreading and confined to my room only!! something like that.

Eax was working in my previous windows 7 64bit but now i just cant get it working even when eax is turned on on my creative audio control panel. It is not integrating like before.

Does anybody know what to do to integrate it properly or enabling it properly by getting into core of system?? like looking into more detailed sound settings? I really need help in this,i really want the eax effects back.

I am using Creative Sound Blaster Audigy value 7.1 sound card

and my os is windows 7 64 bit.

Not really sure what you are saying here, is the volume too low now after a clean Windows setup? Did you install all the drivers for your system hardware? Is the volume just lower than you had it set before? Check Windows, speakers and application volume, any of those can be turned down.

No the volume is set fine still i am not getting proper Eax effects. I tried installing Alchemy but that also doesn't give Windows Xp like eax effects.. In my previous Windows 7 eax sound effects were working at best WITHOUT Alchemy. But now i am not getting eax effects upto mark. The output sound flow is just confined to my room but before the output sound (eax sound) would flow into the entire surrounding.. i have 2 speakers of creative but it didn't matter eax effects were working fine with that in my previous windows 7. But now they are not working at max.

I have set eax amount to -9.5db but in my previous windows 7 upon increasing the slider to -26.7db i would get the best eax sound. all games were working fine.

Is there any other setting area where i need to look into to get eax effects like before.

Those effects would be from the sound card drivers, I can't open the creative site from work, check the creative support side for drivers, there may be something you missed installing.

That is what i dont know, i'm not sure what i had missed installing. I only i could have seen the sound settings before i formatted then i would have known. But still now i know is that i installed latest sound drivers for my sound card.
is there anything more i need to check??
Can you identify what i have missed installing?

Did you install OpenAL? Normally be installed by the game it uses it. EAX won´t work in any game, just the ones that are supporting it.
Can you just set surround sound in the audio device options?

No i didn't install it and i don't know whether it was installed in my previous windows 7.. where can i get it??

My creative Audio control panel is like this

as you can see my eax slider is set to -19.0 db still i am not getting proper eax effects, which in my earlier windows 7 if i set the slider to -24.3 db or below i would get best eax effects.

and how do i set that surround sound option??

As i said earlier i have two speakers of creative and creative sb audigy card. And Eax sound was working perfectly in my earlier windows 7.
where can i set surround sound in windows audio manager. there is no such option. there are options such as play back devices recording devices and all.

I have 2 speakers. do i need to set my speaker configuration to 5.1 speakers with that?
I dont have any bass boost option in my sound card. So how to enable it?
Last what does this CMSS-3D has to do with eax effects??

no, you won´t have to set it to 5.1. Virtual surround with 2 speakers would be an option.

Also how to enable that Bass Boost option which you said earlier.. I am not getting those options in my Audio Control Panel.

I dont know my alchemy version but its setup name is ALMY_PCAPP_LB_1_43_27

then your "value" card and click next
download the up to date driver for win7

My drivers are fully updated then but still no such options are coming. I am not getting desired amount of eax effects like i was getting in my previous windows 7. Anyways little bit of eax effects are coming now maybe as a result of installing bunch of drivers again and again.

If someone here is playing GTA VC on Windows xp with Audio setting of creative lab eax tm. that person can understand how my eax problem is.
is there anything else left to try for me??

I did what you said i am reporting back.
I got horrible eax effects after i added gta vc to alchemy. The sound was no way better than eax effects of windows xp. I set compatibility mode windows xp sp2 in every exe. still eax effects were horrible! infact when i removed the game from alchemy the sound is much better. The kind of sound i was getting when i added GTA VC in alchemy was like very sharp and non spreading sound, it was like its not spreading everywhere in the environment.

But if i play gta vc in windows xp the sound would be awesome. It would cover all the nearby environment as i increase the volume it will cover the whole house. That was the sound i like very much and also i was getting that type of sound in my previous windows 7. But unfortunately after my format to this new windows 7 i am not getting 100% of that eax sound. say i am just getting like 47%.

I just cant figure out what will restore my sound just like the sound of my previous windows 7.

No i didn't because i think Alchemy is useless and i cant restore xp like eax effects at all..

So why not trying? I know that it was working before without alchemist, but this is the "offical" way to go. And on many other threads it was working fine.
