Hi!

I bought a cheap USB 3.0 controller off of Ebay (
https://www.ebay.com/itm/4-Port-PCI...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
) although I was a bit sceptical, but asked a question about that here and most seemed to think it shouldn't be a problem iirc.

However, it doesn't work. In device manager, it reads "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) The USB hub failed to reset."

Messaged seller on ebay, they replied with links to drivers.

First one I am unable to read, but downloaded and installed both drivers off the second link. Still the same error.

Any hints to what I should do? Except buy a better USB controller that is (which I reckon I'm gonna have to eventually).

Performing a search on "DW-VL805" comes up with a VIA chipset for the USB 3.0 card. Drivers for that chipset only support up to Windows version 8.1

Here are a couple links to driver download pages that you can try, but I didn't find anything direct from VIA.
