ECC in a z97 board

I recently purchased a Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 3 motherboard and was planning on running some Kingston KTD-PE313K3/24G until I get some faster, non ECC RAM. I was wondering if there would be any issues when running this with an i5-4690k.

I know, but does that mean it will still work with ecc ram and not use the ecc feature or will it not work at all?

CPU and chipset do not support ECC so it most likely wont even post with that ram installed.

when they put something on the spec, they mean it, not a suggestion.
