I just upgrade my laptop Windows build 1709 to 1803 today, and one thing I notice right off the back is Edge running at the background immediately in Task Manager when Windows bootup and when I sign up. How I can fix this? Its using over 200MB of RAM. I can manually kill it in the Task Manager, but I have to do it every time I log on to Windows. This is ridiculous because on Build 1709 this never happened. I turned off " Let apps run in the background " and fast boot. I don';t want this hungry app running in the background when I am not in use.
Here is the picture from my laptop below.

Solution
The processes that show a little blue icon in status column of Task manager are suspended programs, they not actually running but may need to listen for certain actions. Its why skype, photoes and Outlook may also show with same icon.

Edge being built into win 10 might do that by default, I close chrome on shutdown so it might not restart auto on startup like Edge is.

Microsoft Edge. I just upgraded to 1803 from 1709 on my laptop. I did a clean installation on my desktop as well, and both my laptop and desktop showed Edge runs in the background in Task Manager after I log on. It does not open any app or page at all. It just runs in the Task Manager sucking up over 200MB RAM while I don't open an app or page at all.

Thought I mention this: It probably always loaded like this before, the reason you didn't know is because until 1803, Win 10 didn't show suspended processes in Task Manager. It was an added feature to task manager but if you had used Process Explorer before, you would have seen the suspended processes in it.
