Question GPU Artifacts Only in Specific Games After X99 AliExpress Upgrade – Need Help

Hey everyone, how's it going?

I'm facing a very strange issue and would really appreciate your input. I recently upgraded my setup, moving from a Xeon X79 platform (which always worked perfectly) to a Chinese X99 board — one of those well-known AliExpress Xeon setups.

Since then, I've been experiencing visual artifacts, but only in very specific games, like Arena Blackout and Delta Force. The strange part is that all other games run completely fine, with no artifacts or crashes whatsoever.

The issue also shows up in an unusual way on the Windows desktop, but only after leaving the PC on for hours without use — when I come back, artifacts are on the screen even without anything heavy running. This seems very odd to me because:

• The GPU worked perfectly on the older X79 platform and ran all games without issues;
• If the GPU were defective, artifacts would show up more consistently and across all scenarios — which is not the case;
• This problem only started after switching to the X99 motherboard and CPU.

Given these points, I suspect it might be some rare compatibility issue between the GPU and this Chinese X99 board, possibly related to BIOS settings or PCI Express/power configurations. Or maybe even a faulty CPU?

Has anyone here experienced something similar? Could this be a BIOS setting that needs to be changed to prevent this behavior?

Did you reinstall the OS after migrating platforms?
