edge taskbar icon help

I was wondering how to get icon number 1 which is a link to Netflix in edge to look like number 2 which is a link to netflix in internet explorer? and basically is there a way to customize the icons on the taskbar for any program ?

There are a couple of ways and yes you can change any icon. Either create a shortcut, change the icon and place it in C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar. Or just shift+right click the icon on the taskbar and go to properties>click the change icon button but that might need to restart explorer.exe.

thanks this works for me for everything other than edge. shakes fist at MS grrr

You should be able to do it with the shortcut method, I just tried it. Create a new shortcut to %windir%\explorer.exe microsoft-edge:http://netflix.com or whatever website and change the icon of the shortcut and pin that.

You could also change the icon to the app itself but that will change it everywhere else.
