So I just heard things about eGPU and I think they are awesome..Please explain to me more about. My laptop is an Acer F5-573g...It has a gt 940mx on it but I want to step up the game..I dont want to buy the Razer Core because its so expensive... If my laptop is good for it.. What parts do I need?? Can It be like I turn ont the PSU of the eGPU and my laptop and put it on the ports like HDMI, VGA, USB..

Thanks!

the external gpus on old laptops is made by opening the laptop, removing the mini pci express wifi adapter and there conecting a pci express adapter that goes to a pci express x16 connector, where you can connect a gpu in there

this efectively leaves you without a wifi card and also makes your laptop a desktop pc, because the bottom cover will have to be removed to keep the mini pci express adapter connected to the gpu

it will limit the gpu to work at lower pci express speeds but will deliver some decent results

on a newer laptop with a thunderbolt / usb typc c capable port, you connect a usb cable to a external station where you install a desktop gpu in there

it produces better results than the first option and you don't have to...

you laptop seems to have one type c but seems to be a normal usb port, i am not sure about this

if it is thunderbolt capable type c, you can buy the external gpu solution

if it is not you need to follow the first path i mentioned

however, remember that for the fisrts option, you need to buy a psu for the gpu, he minipci to pci card and the gpu, is not cheap

the second solution needs the external solution, the type c cable capable and the gpu, this often costs more than the laptop you bought
