I'm trying to put the backplate of my EK 360 AIO on my Z790-P motherboard and it feels like the backplate is slightly too small. No matter how precise I align the plate to the holes I can't get all 4 of the holes to match properly. feels like it's too small by a few millimeters and I'm sweating trying to get it alligned.

I am placing the backplate as demonstrated by the manual and a youtube video of the same cooler.

The back plate in question is the LGA 1700 backplate. According to the manual of the MB, it has a Socket LGA1700 CPU so it should be fine?

When I was purchasing my parts there were no compatibility issues noted on pcpartpicker.

Am I doing something wrong or are these two parts just not compatible? I couldn't find any information about this combo anywhere so I hope I can get some help here.

Edit: the cooler came with faulty backplate

I've reverted your thread to the last state. We don't just wipe a thread out of existence and say that it's solved. Someone from the community might even face the same issue as you to learn a thing or two from your predicament.

If you can, add images of the backplate, in case this is something that can be identified before going too deep into the installation process.
