Greetings,

Since windows 8.1, the Elan touchpad on my samsung series 9 ultrabook didn't work properly anymore. Every time I restarded my pc, my custom settings would revert to default. So the triple swipe, quadruple swipe, and other would be unchecked. When I saw there was a new driver I was relieved, thinking it would have fixed the problem. So I've downloaded the 153 mb long patch (version 11.7.18.2), and restarded. When I looked back at my Elan settings, ALL options were gone! It's just default settings! No 3-point scrolling, no 4-point scrolling, no middle mouse click with a double finger tap, no way to remove the smooth scrolling, and more!
What the heck, this isn't a patch... It's just muffling the problems away. Otherwise I could still change the settings, unless I restarted my pc, but now? Preposterous!

Anyone got some info on this? Maybe the same problem?

Hi there I might have a solution to your problem, I have a 9 series myself and noticed the same thing. First have you updated your software using SW update; if that doesn't work have you gone into the mouse properties and looked at the drivers to see if they are enabled and there is nothing wrong with them. If that doesn't work what you should do is go to your file explorer. Go to This pc/ double click on your primary harddrive (Local disk C: )/ click the folder that says program files not program files (x86)/ once you've done that click on the Elantech folder this will open it and you'll notice a large number of folders scroll down till you find an application that says ETDsimpleUI click on that and not the one that says ETDsimpleUI_Win8. Once you've double clicked it should open up the application and you should be able to restore all of your gestures that were originally there. Hopefully this helps

Jaspreet101 - thank you very much for this answer! I've been pulling my hair off my head because this middle click emulation wouldn't work after the driver "upgrade".
I can't understand why Elan issues new drivers which actually limit the usability (?).
