Electrician gets electrocuted

Someone actually probably dying from an electrical explosion...not something I really have an interest seeing. The fact that some people are actually entertained and amused by watching others suffer/die is perverse.

"Remember: It is the amperes that kills you , not the voltage."
A little clarification - It is the current thru the body, not the current capabilities of the source. For example the Computer PSU +12 V can supply 20 to 60 Amps but if you place your pinky on it you will not even feel it. +12 V / Body resistance (ie Normally > 100K= 120 microAmps. Need milliamps and duration. It is the amplitude of the voltage that generates the Current (Current = Voltage devided by resistance)

Requires approx 10 milliamps plus a duration (Higher current, less duration)

AC worst than DC, but only because DC tends to cause you to "pull" yourself away while AC causes you to "Hold" on.

Also depends on path. If path is from Right hand (on voltage) to Left hand (On ground) the current path is accross the heart. If path is from one hand to foot the path is down the body and normally the resistance is much higher (unless standing in water and barefoot).

Case in point, I've been hit with 25,000 VDC ( votage to a color picture tube). (1) current was down thru body, not accross the heart. (2) It was DC and caused my musles to jurk my hand free which also limited the duration.

Bad joke, but explains alot. When they electrocute a perason, why do they call him a DEAD SHORT. Ans When a voltage is applied to the body current flows which generates heat. This cause the body cells to expand and rupture increasing body fluid which intern decreases the body resistantance which increases current - This process keeps repating until you are a short circut and quite dead.

Blond and blue eyes generally have a lower body resistance than say brown hair/brown eyes - Don't ask, came from a study many years ago on how much voltage it takes to feel it. A rare few can feel a nine volt battery when accross the fingers - some old timers would put the nine volt battery to thier tongue to see if it was good. Also some old timers use to check 120 VAC at a lamp by using their finger -> finger nail. NOTE I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
