I am looking for help setting up Emby's remote access. I have looked for setup guides and basically come up with what I already know. I have Emby working perfecting in my internal network but I see little point for a media server if I can't access anything outside my front door. Maybe there is just a guide I a guide I am missing but whatever the case please help.

I am not aware of this particular media server, but the core point in accessing your home from the outside is to know your IP address. There are many services (commonly known as DynDNS) which can provide you with the IP address linked to a particular domain name. Many routers have support for that, and many of these services have update agents you can install on your desktop.

Once you know your IP address, is is trivial port-forwarding setup of a external port to your media server' service port.

1. I realize it is a routing thing....I realize it probably is a stupid thing I changed or haven't and needed to.
2. DynDNS is the most popular company that does Dynamic DNS.
3. I have been unable to connect sitting at my computer knowing my external IP...there is something else...a miss.
