I am using Express Network 1x and I keep getting booted off. It usually
happens at night, after nine. It's Sat morn and things seem to be better.
I don't get booted off as often, but it still happens. We use the cell
phone for all our online stuff because we are full-time RVers.
Any ideas or solutions will be appreciated.
Thanks Carole

I full time in my RV and have been using both qwk2net (4 years) and 1x (1
year, was Express now renamed NationalAccess) and a Kyocera and
MobileOffice.
I used to have problems connecting/dropouts on both voice and data until I
went with an external antenna
Wilson Trucker/RV antenna at http://www.wilsoncellular.com mounted on the
roof, made it way up high (12 FT above the ground and away from the AC and
stuff in the RV (Wiring/conduits etc), and an antenna adapter (plugged into
the back of my phone). They are sold at many truck stops, and they can
usually order whatever they don't have in stock.
Unfortunately, most RV parks I was in are a bit outside of town, and the
signal usually wasn't real good anyway. I went from 1-2 bars to 4-5 bars.
Worked like a charm, and a plus, since I had the antenna cable in one place,
I also put the desk charger there (always plugged in), so I always knew
where the phone was, and it was always charged.

I have had a problem with 1xrtt connections dropping intermittently while
the connection is dormant. Keeping the connection from going dormant
resolves the disconnect problem for me. I do that by running a looping PING
command in a CMD window.
