The Game Bar is a built-in tool that allows you to broadcast, record and share PC gameplay, videos, and screenshots within Windows 10. The Game Bar also lets you record with your microphone while capturing video and is capable of uploading to your Xbox Live activity feed, Messages, YouTube and even Twitter.
In Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 17093, Microsoft introduced a number of improvements to the Game Bar, including the ability to switch between light and dark themes.
In this tutorial, we will outline the steps to change the game bar from the default light theme to a darker theme.
1. Open the Game Bar
With any game open, press and hold the Windows key then press the G key on your keyboard. The Game Bar should then appear at the bottom of the screen with the default light theme. Note that you need to be playing a PC game for the Game Bar to appear.
2. Open the Game Bar Settings
At the bottom left corner of the Game Bar, click the gear icon to open the Game Bar settings window.
3. Select the Dark Theme
In the Game Bar settings, scroll down to Theme and check the Dark radio button to apply the changes instantly. You can now proceed to close the settings window which will then take you back to the Game Bar with the dark theme applied.
To reverse the change, simply repeat steps 2 and 3 and select either the Light or Current Windows Theme
