Enable/disable Hibernate

Customising 17" Laptop with 64Gb SSD in Bay one and HDD in bay two. Initial install only occupies 11 Gb, and everything else will be directed to the HDD. Space not an issue at the moment, appreciate recommendation Hibernate is usually advised to be turned off when running OS on SSD, but is that because of capacity issues or finite limits on read/write operations on SSD? Hibernate also a nuisance if you want to access BIOS/Boot sequence. Perhaps hibernate data could be re-directed off the SSD? No significant change in Boot time, only 5 secs longer... Thoughts?

Hibernate is not as bad of an idea as many would have you belive, however using hibernation will have to write some data to the SSD, witch will (very) slowly degrade the drive overtime.

As far as I'm aware you cannot redirect the hibernation to another drive.

Why not just shutdown the PC? The SSD should be fast enough to take alot of the pain out of waiting through the boot times anyway.
