I've been watching my new pc on my tv via vga but now I'd like to use hdmi. Why won't the pc output to the hdmi port? Do I need to enable something? The picture is still coming out of the vga output but I can't find a way of telling the pc to switch ports. I've trolled through control panel and even through media centre's setup but nothing seems to work. I have resolution set to the lowest setting and I've checked all my drivers are up to date (it's a brand new computer).

Thanks for the replies.
COLGeek: Tried that, and various rebooting combinations but of course when I reboot the screen is blank!

x Heavy: You're saying the integrated graphics card hdmi doesnt work? So I need to install a new graphics card? If that's true, I'll take it back to the store but how can I be certain its that?

Make sure that when you are connected via HDMI that you set the HDTV's input to HDMI. Same goes for VGA. Most HDTVs will not automatically change from one input device to another.
