Encryption on SSHD

When you encrypt a solid state hybrid disk then write data to it is the data that is cached on the SSD portion of the drive encrypted or is it cached unencrypted? As I understand the drive is ignorant to the actual contents it just caches data that is constantly read and if that data is encrypted I would assume its also cached encrypted but being paranoid I wanted to make sure 100% sure that it is not cached through some OS algorithm which would read it unencrypted then write it unencrypted.

the OS has no access to the SSD portion of a hybrid drive, it is controller by the firmware of the drive; therefore, the content of the SSD portion would not be encrypted.
