Ended wrong process in task manager

I ended one of the local processes and now I cannot get past a blue screen when I turn on my laptop. I am running windows 8.1.

Is it a BSOD error (sad face and some text) or a plain blue screen?

I would try booting into a Linux distro such as Ubuntu with a USB stick - use this to backup data, then reinstall Windows with a USB. Ask if you need any help.
