YEAH!!
I played the games a few years ago (again) and i was amazed by all the differents characters you can make, modern games dont have that much customization, that was awesome!

How enhanced will this be? I wish they stay true to the old system & mechanic. Graphic wise, I really hope it meets today's standard.

Because if you look at BG1&2 today, it's basically a pixel fest.

I am not a big fan of HD remaking because all those HD make collections on PS3 are not that HD.

This will be a great service to the greatest PC RPG saga of all time (greatest to me, anyways). If this is done correctly, I will even consider granting a full pardon to Dragon Age II, the mess that it was, for tricking me into buying it on release day for full price (hell, for any price). I don't even allow the box for DA2 to be displayed alongside my other Baldur's Gate and Dragon Age boxes.

I bought used copies of the 2 BG's and Planescape late last year since I've heard for years that they're some of the best western RPGs ever but never played any of them. I was thinking about starting BG1 now that I'm done with ME3, but if this is really that close to release I'll sell my BG collection and wait for it.

I hope they don't use the cookie cutter maps that NWN used. One thing I liked about Baldur's Gate was the great looking maps and unique locations.

played BG1 got far into the game, finally started to get bored with and and resorted to cheats to get it done faster.. all in all, it was a fantastic game when i played without the cheats.
hope the remake is worthy..
"You Point, I Punch"
"I Serve The Flaming Fist"

BG2 wasnt for me. it didnt feel right to me. I would of had rather started my adventure outdoors. the begining area where you start the game lasted too long, i got bored and quit playing.
i was eager to get outside and explore areas like i did with BG1.

If they're basing this on existing code, then don't worry about cookie-cutter maps. My bet is they will modify the Infinity Engine for higher res displays and they'll re-render the sprites likewise. Otherwise, they'll use the same sound, music, voices, maps, etc.

And yes, making this run on current systems can be a pain. Bring on some epic multiplayer again!

Ahhhhhhhh the fond memories of meeting the original "troll" called Noober, Long before or the trolls on forums and youtube.
I'm sure a lot of you will remember him, HEY YA! HEY YA! HEY YA! :)
