Enough Power for new set up?

Hello everyone,

I'm currently building myself a new PC and had some concerns regarding power supply, here's the set up:

Asus Sabertooth z87
i7 3770 3400mhz (Ivy bridge)
CORSAIR Vengeance 4GB DDR3-1600MHz Module x2
1 TB Seagate HDD
LG cd/dvd Writer
Asus 770 gtx oc

My plan is to get a Corsair 650 watt just wanna make sure that will suffice for what i've got?

Any help be greatly appreciated xD

Hi,

A 650W PSU will be more than enough for that system. However, if possible, I would change the PSU brand. Corsair does build good PSUS, but they have a tendency of performing coil whine, and I personally have bad experience with them.

These PSUS will power your system without a problem and they're all high quality ones too.

That won´t work together. You either need a Haswell CPU or a Z77 chipset motherboard.

Im limited to places i can buy from 😛 also my budget.

I changed my processor going for a i7 4771 3.5 GHz that's compatible with this motherboard correct?

The corsair psu should do fine. Is it a "HX" or "CS" or "RM" or even a "AX" series?

Do you realy need the i7? For games the benefit is quite limited looking at what you have to spend extra.

well if not the i7 what do you recommend? I'll look into it. The PSU is a AX series if i'm not mistaken.

If it is an AX series psu that would be a really good pick.

For gaming purposes you could probably also do with the i5 4670 if not overclocking.You could for the price difference even go for a build which you could overclock if you're into that and that hasn't to be right away but could be just for the future as well.

Yes, it is.
However, I would either go with a k-CPU and a Z87 chipset motherboard or a non-k CPU and a H87 chipset motherboard.

interesting answers im not interested in over clocking or any of that, just basic builds doing some research and cant see why an i5 would be better? that 4770k thou does sound good i need to see if i can work it into my budget. Can you recommend a H87 MB, similar in price if possible to the sabertooth??

If you're not overclocking and still want hyper threading go for the 4770 without the K,it will save you money and stock performance is the same.
