I took my card reader USB out of my ASUS PC and computer crashed. Now I get boot screen that says "USB device detected over system".
So I tried to enter Setup during boot by hitting Del or F2 and Setup doesn't start and PC shuts down after 15 seconds.
I also removed CMOS battery and put it back and that doesn't help.
Why won't Setup start?
Might I have a short in my motherboard or USB?

Might want to include the model and SKU to your Asus prebuilt PC. Can you regain operability if you reconnect the card reader to the prebuilt?

Did you remove the card reader while the system was powered up and running?

Is this the message you're getting?

Yes. You may have shorted USB header pins, if you were not careful enough, when disconnecting your card reader.

Make a photo of your motherboard (portion, where card reader was connected to it) and show here.

Card reader didn't show up in Windows so I pulled it out and I think I tried to put it in the wrong slot then the PC shut down.
I think I can get model number if I start it again but I don't want to start it and damage it.
I can't attach photo using my phone.

Obviously something got shorted out.
Remove card reader completely and DO NOT plug it into some random header.

I don't care about model numbers.
Show the photo.

Took it to get repaired and guy said USB is damaged and probably can't be repaired. Said mobo is 10th gen and isn't available anymore except in China. I'll probably need a new PC. I liked my ASUS desktop and used it for video and music.
