EP45-UD3P First Overclock Stability Problems

Hey guys,
This is my first overclock and it was fine when running xp i ran Prime 95 for about 4 hours and thourght it would be ok and it never crashed in XP. Then i switched to windows 7 64bit 7100 build, which is fine but when playing games and watching movies etc it sometimes freezes then goes to a blue screen. I thourght it could be a driver issue so i have the latest drivers for my video card, sound and directX.

I was reading in the forums that i have to run prime 95 for at least 12 hours so i set it going and i got an error after 5 hours 25 mins. I have also run memtest+ passing 3 times with each module on its own and then together. So i don't think its memory. Then i was speaking to someone and they said i might have to up the southbridge voltage a little bit as it is related to the video card.

So could someone recommend some settings to use to fix my stabilility issue.

Your overclock isn't stable. Try bumping the cpu vcore and/or the cpu termination voltage up a little and test it again. Read the overclocking guides.

I would up your Northbridge a bit if your going to 4ghz, its way too low at 1.1v thats just my 2 cents. Good luck with the overclock, FSB termination should be fine at 1.2v but if not try playing around with NB first then with FSB termination second and it should be stable after upping one of those two (or both) by a few volts, if you can start prime and go for twelve hours then something there only needs a slightly bit more voltage. Of course you could always just simply have a bad e8400 that is vcore hungry too

its seem like u always set the auto setting,u must remember sometimes auto setting is not good for overclocking you don't know how much the volt, sometimes very low or high.
try for this setting and use multiply 10X.
