Hey. I've had this motherboard for about 3 years now and I really haven't run into any trouble. In the past 3 months though, I've noticed that three of capacitors near the processer have some kind of brown gunk that's coming out of the top. I realize that this is a problem, but I don't know how big a problem it is. I dunno how long one of these capacitors has had this brown gunk, but the other two have just started seeping within the past two months. I do have it overclocked, 1900+ AMD to 2200+, or 1600 to 1826MHz. I water cool and have a few fans in there, but I've really never experienced any trouble, save for the fact that my multipliers on the processor seem locked at 11x and my mobo is at 166 FSB.
Should I just get a new one? Or can I call Epox for a replacement? And would I be running into any explosions or the like anytime soon if I don't fix the problem?

Replace the bad caps before they take out your components.

Abit IS7 - 2.8C @ 3.4ghz - Mushkin PC4000 (2 X 512) - Sapphire 9800Pro - TT 420 watt Pure Power
Samsung 120gb ATA-100 - Maxtor 40gb ATA - 100
Sony DRU-510A - Yellowtail Merlot

The brown gunk is probably the dielectric from between the capacitor plates. If enough oozes out the plates will short and you won't like the results.

I would request an online rma, and see if epox will accept it. It usually takes about 2 weeks to get a replacement, if the turnaround time is less than 5 days. I use Fedex ground, and track it online. They are usually about 1 day faster than ups.

If the board is under warranty, get it replaced. If it's not under warranty, fix it yourself. If you're too scatterbrained to operate a solder iron, I can fix it for you for $30.
