I got this wrong,Ornate BP has clicky Spell haste and leggings has the
summoned hammer pet.
Clicky spell haste would be nice to have, but I wear the Ldon BP for
the cheap FT2 aug.
Even if there would be an item with a useful clicky like root,it would
be pretty unlikely that I had the armour slot open with all the Focus
gear, haste item,FT 15,and I would never give up my Cloak of greater
Pernicity for its 25 Strength. =)
Oh,and I found a click item on my cleric, the leggings from Kael,100 hp
group heal,10 seconds cast time. =)

Keep in mind,I do not raid with him, mostly doing Ldons, and stuff like
Veksar or Nadox in small groups, not to rarely needed as tank.
Although I could cry when killing one of the Zeks with my 67 Ranger
on a raid and see the hammer rot.

The first place I look for spell info is lucy.allakhazam.com. I have not
checked on what they have for the new spell levels personally however.

What ever happened to actually typing out a sentence? I played a necro
as my main and enjoyed pulling. I ususaly asked "Everyone ready?" or
something along those lines. Guess people got lazy.

It only makes sense to abbreviate a phrase that gets repeated so often
during a short period of time.

It would only make sense if you wanted your character to sound like
that. I don't know about you but I don't go around talking in
abbreviations, and I sure dont' RP a character that does. But then it
comes down to people playing a Role Playing Game or just a Game.

I "do not" know about you but I "do not" go around talking in abbreviations,
and I sure "do not" "roleplay" a character that does.

I won't tell you what I think it comes down to, but I bet you can guess. =P

When was the last time you played a roleplaying game where none of the
characters could talk and instead had to type their messages out to
eachother. If you ever were to play such a game I'm sure your characters
would rapidly evolve various shorthand. Oh wait... you do... its called
EQ... and hmmm.... yes... there's the shorthand.

/shrug

When I play with my brother we use a headset, and we talk. I don't say
"el oh el" or "gee-to-gee" or "oh oh em". But when its down to typing...
you look for the most efficient means to communicate.

Plus when was the last time you played an RPG where the *only* thing to
do in a dungeon was in fact to the pull the next mob?

Hey whats under that rock?
Nevermind... I can't seem to interact with it.

How does the wall feel to the touch?
Nevermind... I can't seem to interact with it.

Can I take a leaf off this plant?
Nevermind... I can't seem to interact with it.

Has anyone ever trid talking to the Sand Geomancers?
Nevermind... Add, btw.

Funny, we talk in abbreviations every day in America.

It only makes sense to some people, lazy people in my opinion. If it is
repeated that often and the person is too lazy to type out what they mean to
say each time, then they can make a social hotkey for the message so
everyone is clear with what he's trying to communicate.

And 99% or so of the people playing MMORPGs ignore the RP part of the

Am I the only person that chuckles at the irony of the phrase "I don't go
around talking in abbreviations, and I sure don't *RP* a character that
does" everytime it's quoted in a reply? =)

/disagree

I have hotkeys for *important* stuff. Switching banks back and forth
just to say "good to go" is also more work than just typing 'gtg'.

If you aren't clear what's being communicated: ask

And then its clear.

Well, if we're talking personal opinions, then allow me to say that,
IMO, people who have a problem with those who use the term, "gtg" in the
course of normal play, should remove whatever foreign object from their
rectum that is causing such discomfort.

Do you also have a problem with those who use contractions when they
type? How about just shortened versions of terms such as, "port"
(instead of teleport)? Do you look down upon those who say, "PoK"?

Picture a scenario where everyone on your friends list suddenly realized
that every time they have mentioned getting "KEI" or "Temp" you viewed
them as lazy, then tell me how you really feel about it.

The point being is that you were not at all unclear about what I was
communicating. The subject being discussed is obscure made up acronyms that
aren't clearly understood. Comparing well known apostrophe punctuation to
obscure made up acronyms is clearly comparing apples to oranges. But then,
you already knew that.

I just googled for "RP".

First hit was something German that I can't even figure out where the "RP"
comes from. Second hit Roaring Penguin linux distro. Third hit RP
electronics. Fourth hit RP International, which ironically enough is about
some sort of disease but doesn't say what "RP" stands for. Fifth hit
Republic Polytechnic school. Sixth hit RAC Route Planner. Seventh hit
Radio Paradise. Eighth hit Representative Poetry. The first "RP" that
stands for roleplaying (context told me what you meant... imagine that)
came at hit 31.

Damn abbreviations. =P

I don't know why you are replying to my post with your information about RP.
Below is all the information that you snipped from the original message,
where is any reference to RP? Unless you meant RFP, then we agree, he should
have typed out something everyone understood.

Shane Goodall is who that should have been directed at, that is the
person that made the rather amusing reply talking about how we should not
use abbreviations while using at least that one in the reply.

I do use abbreviations in EQ, it's a game, I am not about to make 10
banks of socials to type out commonly used phrases when there are
perfectly acceptable (to a vast majority of players) abbreviations for
those phrases. If you don't like it, tough, don't group with me. As
others have said, if you don't understand one of the standard acronyms,
ask, then you will know.

Hah, I need to turn on names. The writing style (and opinion) were the
same. =)

Strangely enough, I don't generally use abbreviations for a lot of stuff
that the majority of people do. I have no problems with them, but I type
fast enough that there is little benefit to using them and a without using
them they don't come naturally to me. I do abbreviate zone names like PoK,
and some buffs like KEI. I've even been asked why I type out peoples' full
names in chatting.
