EQL: Alcohol Tolerance

Greetings,

I'm trying to cap my Alcohol Tolerance. After a couple of drunken raids and a bit of
/AFK, I'm at 110 and climbing at what I feel to be a good clip.

Will the mage-summoned ale be good enough to get me to 200, or should I plan on consuming
progressively stronger drinks? If so, what would you recommend?

Best regards,

Tim ==

I've gotten mine to 192 so far, and rarely go for anything exotic.
Indeed, my last several skillups have come from Summoned Ale using
my Fisherman's Companion.

Thanks, Don - I picked one of those up last night, and it seems to be just the ticket.

I didn't quest it, I just bought the components in the bazaar - about 500p for all 4
pieces.

I too have worked on my AT but as an Ogre shaman, is there any point in this
skill apart from role play?

Oh, for all the well-versed and knowledgeable shamans out there - would you
mind checking out
my shaman junk gear and recommend any upgrades? My guild is very small, (not
elemental yet), but we pride ourselves on tight teamwork and dogged
determination. I'm not afraid of long tedious quests.
Note: Magelo hates me it appears, as I can't seem to get my HP's and AC
right, they are around 2600 and 1000 (unbuffed) respectively IIRC.

PS: One final thing hehe, I am tired of the unbalanced PvP and hate on Zek,
so I am looking to take up the free server transfer. I live in New Zealand,
which is on a different time-zone than the majority
of players, so I'm looking for a south pacific populated server (I heard The
Rathe server has an Aussie guild, which sounds good) - any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!!

Capped AT is supposed help melees regain their senses quicker when they slam back a few to
boost HP and STA. The higher your skill, the fewer detrimental effects. If your skill is
at 20 and you've drunk mead until you've reached the point where you "cannot become more
intoxicated", your ATK and AC are going to be piss-poor until you recover.

Oh, yeah: one of the top guilds in the game - Brotherhood of the Spider
http://www.botsguild.org - requires that all applicants cap their AT skill. I figure
that's reason enough to raise the skill. :->

Yes, you're speaking of Terror Australis http://www.bad-sports.com/~terrora, who have just
entered the Elemental Planes on The Rathe. They're a good sort of folk.

As noted in that thread, alcohol raises STR/STA, but at the
cost of AC/ATK (and also WIS/INT, though those matter less
to the melees who want the STR/STA). Even at 192, I haven't
found the effect to be a net plus. I'll check again once I
hit 200.

There are also some potions that got added recently (part of
OOW, I think) that give some small benefits (e.g., a few
percent increase in runspeed) but you have to have AlcTol of
100 or more or the potion will make you drunk.

Ding AT 200. :->

I used the Fisherman's Companion/Brell's Fishin' Pole summoned ale to make it all the way
to the cap.

I'll post some stats as soon as I sober up.
