Hi, I want to build gaming PC, but due to meltdown bugs on intel I would like to select AMD one. So, what is equivalent of Intel Core i5 for AMD?

Solution
Current data says Meltdown/Sceptre fixes have minimal impact on gaming. If gaming is all you plan to do on your PC, then there is no AMD equivalent to Intel's chips, Intel's chips are ~10% faster on average in gaming than AMD's nearest priced Ryzen. This means you need to spend more on AMD to achieve equivalent performance in most cases.

If you do content creation and other productivity stuff, then Ryzen becomes more interesting at all price points. (If I had to build with Ryzen today, I'd try to aim for a 1600 too.)

Which i5? There is a massive difference between lets say a 7400 & 8600k.

For gaming the Ryzen 1600 is hard to beat for price to performance but it cannot match a 8600k. Don't get hung up on this bug claim and that's all it is, a claim. For a gaming builds Intel still wins and Ryzen isn't without its bugs.
