error 1722 getting session names

Hello, I have a problem. I want to be able to send messages over my network to other computers, but when I use this command: msg * /SERVER:servername to send the message, it just gives this error: Error 1722 getting session names. what can I do to resolve this?

Android does not do well with windows hostname/netbios/computer name out of the box
try using ip address instead of computer name.

I will try using just the ip address then, but I don't know what android has to do with this. I am using all windows 7 computers

Hmmm, I could have sworn in your post you mentioned a phone, which is why I assumed android.

Using IP address will still help if it is a name resolution issue.

Try typing ipconfig /all
If the DNS address is not the same as the gateway address then that would also cause this issue.

It gives the same error even when using the ip address in place of the server name

Just to inform... I had the same issue and I solved it by setting the same accounts with the same passwords on every Windows 7 PC... It also solved my problems and with sharing of drives and folders at the same time...

Hope this info will help to someone... I didn't know till I discovered this problem... M.R.
