I have a problem. When I trying to turn on my NVIDIA control panel it says: NVIDIA Display settings are not available. You are not currently using a display attached to an NVIDIA GPU. How to fix it ?
What does Device Manager say the card is ? If your not sure where to find this its in Control Panel under Hardware and Sound. Open Device Manager and click on "Display" and tell us what shows underneath, exact details please....
Ah, OK, that shouldnt be happening, can you confirm you are plugging the Monitor into the GPU and not the motherboard ? If your not how to do this or what this is it's OK, just let me know and we can get through it !!!
OK, can you go back into Device Manager and right click on the Intel HD Graphics 4600 and open Properties, then click on "Disable Device" please. Then try and access Nvidia Control Panel
NOTE: This is just a test to ensure that the Integrated Graphics is the issue. We will need to do more if it is as there is no need to disable it, it's a good backup for possible load sharing.
Can you right click on the Nvidia 1050 and then click on Properties and then the Driver TAB. The Driver Number listed should have the last 5 numbers as 4.1634. If that is not the case then Right Click on the 1050 again and select "Update Driver" and let it look on the web for a later driver.
OK, apologies for this but its an unfortunate neccesity while trouble shooting this !!! Turn off the PC, disconnect the power cable and switch the power off on the battery at the back of the case. What i need you to do is open the case up (not on carpet please, non static surface like a benchtop but not while your standing on carpet) and remove the small round battery from the Motherboard (its very simple), leave it for 10 minutes then replace the battery and boot up as normal, the BIOS reset will fix the current issue. Here is a quick video (39 seconds) on pulling the battery out and replacing, its like a normal round battery; (NOTE: You can use the jumper ports but presume youll find pulling out a battery easier; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmub7qqP63Q
