If anybody uses here ESET internet security and knows.

If I use an older version of the product, I see I still get updates but there are newer product versions. Why do I need a newer product version if I still keep getting updates? on the older one

Many times, the layout of the user interface/appearance/options within the app both change enough so that a new version is available, but, the underlying detection engine/capabilities are likely the same...

I'd do a search for articles/videos on the recent version, but, if you don't see/hear anything drastically different, odds are the underlying detection/blocking abilities are likely the same...
