We recently purchased the Asus rt-ac3200 router and it gave us the option to create both 2.4 and 5.1 GHz connections, with the 5.1 given %80 bandwidth priority for me and my friend). To start only the 2.4 was available though wifi and Ethernet connections ( even though on our phone you can connect to all 3). I tried looking into seeing if the 5.1GHz connections were hidden and typed in the information to un-hide them. Now my computer "sees" them in known connection, but they arent on my list of available networks to connect to for either wifi or Ethernet. also as a side problem i dont know how to make it so my ethernet will connect to a different network besides the 2.4 one.
If anyone can help please do, If you need additional information just let me know ill see what i can do

Ethernet is usually a wired connection and will not see any of the 2.4 or 5.0 connection.

the reason you are not able to see the 5.0 from your computer might be that the wireless network card does not support 5.0

do you have a dual band wireless network card?
