[SOLVED] Ethernet Cable Modern

My internet seems to be lagging a lot. I am using wireless but I would really like to try it out with an ethernet cable.

The problem is that we rent the second floor of our house and the modern is down stairs where the owner lives so I have no way of plugging in an ethernet cord. Anybody that has some ideas?

Talk with the owner about a DIY project to run Ethernet up stairs.
Look into Powerline network adapters. Not as good as a direct Ethernet connection, but if it works, it's typically better than WiFi.
If you're paying for your own TV, get your own Internet as well.
