Hi all, i have a problem with the ethernet connection. The problem is that the system say me that i am connected but when i try to browse i can't receive any answer. The diagnostic system says me that all is fine but that i can have some problem with the dns. But i don't know if it is really like that.

I can ping the default gateway, but i can't ping outside (ex. google.com). I can send, but i can't receive any packets.

I tried, i think, almost all possible solutions: the driver is updated, i tried to flush the dns through ipconfig, disabled the ipv6, statical dns (8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4), started windows in safe mode to check that the connection wasn't blocked by some software, check for malware (malwarebytes), do a reset of the network, and maybe something else that i can't remember... but nothing of that worked.

I have a Realtel PCIe GBE Family Controller, but i don't think this is a hardware problem, because i also tried to use an Ethernet USB Adapter and the result was the same.

So i'm here with the hope that someone of you maybe can help me. Thanks a lot in any case.

It`s very clear that you have a problem with the router setup and config if you can pin the router or main gateway IP address.

First of all though check the status led lights on the back of the system you have and what are llit up or blinking when the Ethernet cable is connected from the system to the router, and also check what grade or category the Ethernet cable you are using is rated for in speed transmission.

A cat 5E rated cable can run on a network with a Duplex speed setting of 10Mbps up to 100 Mbps.
Login to the router and check that Dhcp mode for the router is selected or the check box is ticked.

Save then exit the router.

Now move over to your system.
Click on control panel of windows, then network and sharing center.

Select change adapter settings for the Ethernet adapter.
You should see the local network adapter in the new window.
Click on the properties tab.
Then click on the Configure tab in the next window or box that is shown.
In the new window shown click the advanced tab at the top.

Scroll down the list till you reach the Speed and duplex settings.
left click on it.
From the value box to the top right select : 100Mbps full duplex mode if the cable you are using is rated as a Cat 5 or 5E cable. then click ok or apply.

Restart windows and let it load back to desktop, then test for a connection to the internet.
If the adapter supports a 1Gbps duplex speed in order for it to work you will need a cat 6 or 6E rated cable between the system and the router, providing the router in question is new and states it can support 1Gbps transfer speeds.

If it fails, make sure you have the type of network selected for the network , Home, Work, or private.
Windows needs a network profile set to identify a network type and give connection to the internet via the router or gate way.

You motherboard manual to do with the Ethernet adapter always tells you out of the two led lights lit on the connection port what speed the network is running at, or the speed the adapter is set to run at by configuration.

Setting a network to a 1Gbps network speed when using only a cat 5 or 5E cable type, as well as the Ethernet ports of the router only being able to run at a maximum of 100Mbps is the cause of why internet cannot be obtained in all cases.

Or you have a break in the cable it`s self you are using of one of the twisted pairs out of the eight wires used in total in the cable.
So replace.

tried both with cat5 and cat6 but nothing (i have both cable and 1 Gbps connection in my campus)...i also tried to disable the firewall but it wasn't the problem

What is Your Network topology ?

What is connected to what, starting from the wall where the internet is coming from... ?
It looks like You have more than one router... ?
