Ethernet from wireless booster pointless?

Hi,

I have a wireless internet booster to increase signal in the other side of the house from where the main router is, and I use an ethernet cable from that to my pc.

I've had a lot of problems with my internet for my pc, whereas other times with the same internet but an ethernet plugged directly into the router it's been fine.

So I was thinking, does the booster being wireless kind of defeat the point of using the ethernet, since it's still using a wireless connection to the main router?

Would like to know if plugging an ethernet cable directly into the main router would improve my internet for my pc, or it there is no point.

NOTE: I don't know how boosters work so if what I'm asking might be really dumb.

Thanks

An ethernet cable from your booster is still....WiFi.

If you can get a Cat5e direct from the PC to the router, that is by far the best connection type.

Ok, that's what I though but I wanted to make sure before I put a lot of effort into changing something that ends up to be pointless. Thanks!
