Ethernet keeps my computer online...

Hello everybody, my computer seems to be suffering some problems that I hope someone could help me with. So I started using ethernet through power line so that I could have some sort of wired connection. But when I tried unplugging my computer's ethernet line and plugged it into my Xbox, the wireless that it had from the external wireless card won't connect to the internet. So I was hoping for some help from here. It kinda bugs me because when I want to hard wire my Xbox, I can't use my computer at all. So what ever options I might get I'll try because at this point I'm desperate. Thank you and have a nice day!

Well I knew about that, that's not what I meant to ask. What I was trying to ask how to get my wireless card to connect to the internet. Because that's whats causing me problems at the moment.

The wireless on the xbox? or the wireless on the PC?

PC, when I unplugged the ethernet cable from it, it would no longer connect to the internet from wireless.

So you need to configure your wireless connection and probably install drivers for your external wireless adapter.
Have you done that?

I have configured the connection and reinstalled the drivers a couple of times. I've had this computer for more than two years and I used to use wireless all the time until I switched to ethernet. Now it won't connect unless it's plugged in, but I feel like it might have to do with my antivirus.

It's normally the other way around, i.e. no wireless if ethernet is plugged in.
