Hello everyone,
So I've been using this LAN adapter for 3-4 years, though I vaguely remember one day, for some reason, I disconnected my Ethernet cable from the LAN adapter and connected it directly to my motherboard (Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3). I never had any major problem with it but this week we finally got Optical Fiber and we went from 20Mbps to 300Mbps. Of course I was super excited to enjoy it, and as soon as I use my PC, I ran a speed test at SpeedOf.Me and I got an average of 16Mbps of download and 9Mbps of upload.
Important: We have another PC in the house, and it does get 300Mbps cause they also ran the test.
So I decided to start trying to find a solution.
At first I thought it might be my TP-Link poweline adapter, but as soon as I took a look at it I saw it clearly stated "200Mbps" So that's not the problem as far as I know. Still, If it could be useful here's the model too "TP-PA2010P" and it says "Ver. 1.2".
Then I took a look at the back of my PC and I realised my Ethernet cable was connected to the motherboard, so I understand that the problem is there. I have a LAN adapter "TP-Link TG-3260", it supports 1000Mbps so that should do it. But I realised that although it's connected to my motherboard, the lights on the back are all off. And when I connect my Ethernet cable there my PC just says there is no Ethernet cable connected anywhere.
How could I fix this?
I have to say, that I think that long ago I did have my Ethernet connected to my LAN adapter and it was all fine. But I think one day by accident I deleted the "Ethernet 1" from my Network Connections menu because now I only have a "Ethernet 2", a "TAP-Windows Adapter" (which I don't know what it is) and a "Hamachi" network. I am pretty sure there used to be a "Ethernet 1" and I fucked it up somehow. How do I fix all of this? Thank you
I use Windows 8.

I think I got to fix the problem, I basically switched the LAN adapter to a different PCI slot. I now get 60Mbps which is better but still only 20% of what I should get, but I found the root of the problem. Too much background noise through the powerline adapter. I'll make a direct Ethernet connection through the walls of the house. Hope it helps someone though I don't know how to close the thread as solved.
