The title basicly says it all, I looked on the internet many people were before me I have tried many methods but it is still not working.

My issue: My wifi works fine on my laptop and desktop. For some reason my Ethernet cable stopped functioning, I was just playing some game and it randomly stopped working. Weird. I tried to connect a different cable with the switch I have on my room, but this didn't work either. I also tried another cable on the other end of my room it didn't work. So my ethernet is giving wrong ip's when connected with cable.

Troubleshootings:
netsh reseting
reinstalling drivers
ipconfig flushing/renewing etc.
windows troubleshooter
DHCP auto enabled
disabled ipv6
Gave a static ip4v addres, changed dns aswell to static.
gave up, retried the next day.
unplugged my TP-LINK switch, waited a minute reopened it.
DId the same with my router, plugged it off the outlet waited 1 min.
Didn't work, tried switching it of with the o/I button didn't work.
Tought it might be my switch, looked on my default gateway for connected devices, my switch has a solid ip4v adres, so I'm pretty sure this functions. I'm out of ideas to be honest.

I could use some help. :s Thanks!

Can you connect to your router directly using an Ethernet cable from the router's LAN ports? If so then the issue can be compounded to a faulty switch. On another note, have you made sure your Ethernet port on your laptop is not dead or dying and the drivers for said Ethernet port are up to date?

Open CMD and run and "ipconfig /all" please post the output.

As for the LAN. Have you tried using another port on the switch and\or router? Have you tried to connect a laptop to the cable instead of your desktop to see if internet works on the laptop on LAN?

Issue could be a bad ethernet port on your PC rather then bad hardware network wise. Test with another PC\Laptop to verify.

I'm pretty sure my laptop's ethernet port is not dead, it's brand new it used to work, it also doesn't work on the Desktop So i'm pretty sure there are no dead or outdated drivers. But I'm checking if a direct modem cable works fine.

I'm pretty sure my Ethernet ports aren't broken or anything on my laptop and desktop.I tried using my laptop somewhere else at school with cable and it worked fine.

Its suppose to be something like 192.168.1.** as my auto ipv4 adres.

You are pulling an apipa address. Have you tried to bypass the switch and plug straight into the router yet?

There is a communication issue between the PC and the Router and only thing in the middle I'm assuming is the switch. So if both endpoints work. Then switch is the issue.

Question,
Are any other devices on a wired ethernet connection working? Recently I had an issue where 2 desktop PCs lost connections via ethernet ports but the laptop using WIFI worked great. Tracked it down to the ethernet port on my Sony TV. When cable was not plugged into the TV all was fine, all other devices worked. Still working on what could be the issue with the TV, but is WIFI connection is working and it is not a critical issue at the moment. The TV connects via a switch in the living room to a switch by the modem/router where the other PCs ethernet cables connect.
The problem might be on another device on the network.

Alright so what I did in 10 minutes is basicly go downstairs where the modem is, there is also a computer here this one is also connected to a switch, with the internet for the pc and some other internet stuff for online movie box. I took out that switched and changed it with the switch in the attic. The switch i switched with the switch that was in the attic worked fine downstairs. I plugged the switch from downstairs in at the attic and it still doesn't work. :/

I have 2 switches, 1 downstairs and 1 in the attic, downstairs the ethernet works fine. I tried changing the switches with each other, but this did not help.

I'm so stupid when i flicked the router off, i didn't check if every cable was connected, my little nephews had pulled out a cable, how stupid of me, thanks for reminding me xD
