Last week I moved my ethernet cable from my PC to a raspberry pi to watch movies and such. Today I moved the cable back to my PC and it's not recognized. I think it may be an issue with the mac address registered to the line, but then again I don't know how ethernet really works. Any solutions to similar problems?

I'm using Windows 10. Ipconfig shows no connection.

If this is for an ethernet cable direct from your ISP, then it is possible that the MAC address needs to be cleared. Leave the cable unplugged from everything overnight.
You really should get a router. That would alllow you to have multiple hosts connected at once.

I have a switch that leads all the ethernet cords to each room, the switch is connected to the router.
